Evidence-Based Practices

The Missing Peace brings together evidence-based and best-practices in order to offer patients the highest-level of mental health care. Utilizing multiple therapy modalities in tandem with one another, practitioners create specialized individual plans that treat the root causes of trauma, and not just the symptoms (such as anxiety and depression).

And the research says...

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

is considered the gold standard of the psychotherapy field (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).

Play Therapy

is a therapeutic modality used with kids who may not have the capacity to use words to explain what they are thinking or feeling. Research shows that play therapy can be effective and help treat a range of issues children face, including abuse, aggressive or acting-out behaviors, anxiety, autism, and phobias (Alliant International University).

Neurofeedback Therapy

treatments help patients gain back control of their physical and mental health – and their quality of life. As patients complete neurofeedback treatment, they are learning the techniques and exercises they need to strengthen their brains and reach their cognitive potential (The Drake Institute).

Sound therapy

works through the vibrational tactile effects on the whole body. Sound stimulates touch fibers that affect pain perception. A review of 400 published scientific articles on music as medicine found strong evidence that music has mental and physical health benefits in improving mood and reducing stress. In fact, rhythm in particular (over melody) can provide physical pain relief (Psychology Today, January 2024).
